Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Who do I make the check payable to? Where do I send the registration form and $80 club fee?
A: Zeeland Fishhawx at 1/9/24 meeting. The $80 fee covers memberships to B.A.S.S., Bassmasters magazine and Michigan Bass Nation (MBN). B.A.S.S. membership covers liability insurance for $1,000,000 per occurrence if anything were to happen during a Zeeland Fishhawx event.
Q: What do the anglers need?
A: Fishing combo (rod & reel), basic tackle and life jacket. Maybe a rain suit, but it’s not necessary.
Q: What nights will the meetings be on?
A: Seminars will be typically on Tuesday nights from 7 – 8:30 p.m. Some Thursday nights we will be working on bass fishing related projects or prefishing.
Q: What is the expectation for attending meetings?
A: I understand that everyone is involved in other activities and once summer comes jobs and family vacations will be some of the conflicts that come up. You must attend at least 6 out of 20 meetings either in person or via Zoom in order to receive your jersey and hat. Seminar notes will be distributed to all anglers via google drive.
Q: What is the estimated cost to participate?
A: It depends on how involved the anglers desire to be. Besides the $80 club fee, I’m hoping less than $200. See full cost breakdown.
Q: How does the volunteer boat driver situation work?
A: We are compiling a list of volunteer boat drivers. It’s a requirement that the boat driver shows verification for having a minimum of $300,000 of liability insurance on their boat. The anglers will be responsible for contacting a boat driver from that list to make arrangements with them about transportation to and from the tournament. For pond tournaments and weekly meetings, each angler is responsible for their own transportation to and from the event.
